LANshack: 2012 EC&M Product of the Year

The following is an excerpt from EC&M's 2012 Product of the Year Page.

For the 2012 EC&M Product of the Year competition, we received 129 entries spread out over 31 categories. These entries were evaluated carefully by a panel of 10 judges, representing electrical professionals from the engineering, contracting, and facilities and maintenance industries. After much deliberation, the judges narrowed down the entries to the category winners listed below. Subscribers to EC&M were invited to select this year’s Platinum, Gold, and Silver award winners, which will be published in the July issue.

Tools (Hand) | QuickTreX: Wire Surgeon Wire and Kevlar Cutting Scissors

Wire Surgeon wire and Kevlar cutting scissors are constructed of ice-tempered Solingen stainless steel that holds up under extreme use, according to the company. Designed for installing structured network cabling, the scissors incorporate a wire stripper and splice and terminal crimper that can be used for copper wires from 26 AWG to 18 AWG. Suitable for right-handed or left-handed users, features include slight serrations on the blade to prevent wire slippage as well as a soft rubber handle.
