Our QuickTreX® IP68 Rated Corning® Altos Outdoor (OSP) Armored Direct Burial Rated Singlemode Preconnectorized Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies with Weatherproof Senko Connectors are a perfect solution for your outdoor harsh environment installations where a sealed connection is a must. The Senko IP68 connectors used on these assemblies are designed to create a IP68 rated fiber optic cable installation. These types of cable installations are often used for fiber to the antenna, outdoor arenas, military applications, and more. We start with genuine Senko® connectors and precision terminate them to genuine Corning Altos Outdoor Armored fiber optic cable. We also offer all standard simplex fiber optic connectors for transitioning from a IP68 Rated side to a standard connectorized side often used in racks and enclosures. Our termination process delivers maximum physical contact for consistently low insertion loss and excellent return loss characteristics. Our assemblies are always proudly made in the USA and include a full test report. We also are ISO9001 certified so you can be assured we follow strict quality control measures during the manufacturing process of your assembly.
These assemblies are designed for use with our Outdoor Weatherproof IP68 Rated Fiber Optic Junction boxes. These boxes are populated with Senko IP68 Rated Adapters so you can easily plug your preconnectorized fiber optic assembly with Senko connectors directly into it. You can also use our Senko In-Line Couplers if an outdoor junction box is not needed. The use of the Senko IP68 rated connector and adapter/coupler creates a IP68 rated seal keeping out water, dust, and other contaminates that can affect the coupling of your fiber optic connectors.
This Outdoor (OSP) Armored Direction Burial Rated Cable used for these assemblies is rated for almost all outdoor applications. These assemblies are the most durable and rugged assemblies we offer for permanent installation. They are designed for installation directly buried in trenches and underground installation where rodent chew damage is a concern, overhead lashed to a guy wire, or secured to a radio tower, building, or other permanent outdoor structure. This jacket design also offers superior crush resistance. If installing in conduit we recommend using at least a 3" diameter conduit to accommodate for the assembly breakout.
Choosing a direct burial rated jacket helps save time and money in outdoor applications where conduit is necessary, or in industrial environments which require extra protection. Although this option is priced higher than standard indoor/outdoor distribution cable that needs to be ran inside conduit, it outweighs its overall price when compared the cost of purchasing conduit and then the labor involved having to pull the cable through it. This outdoor (OSPDB) armored cable has a heavy duty polyethylene (PE) UV and water proof jacket, corrugated steel tubing, and water blocking swellable tape surrounding the fiber optic strands.
Standard QuickTreX® Manufacturing Features:

- Each assembly includes a wrap around-label on both ends of the assembly which will include the QuickTreX® part number and individual serial number.
- Each Assembly includes a full test report. During our testing process all fiber ends are visually inspected with a fiberscope of 400 power or better for surface defects including, cracking, pitting, and scratches, on the glass surface of the connector. All connector ends are then tested utilizing a professional grade Loss Test Set
- The test report is saved in our database for 1 year and can be requested at any time.
- Pulling Eyes (pulling baskets) if equipped are made from super strong polyethylene mesh and feature a free-spinning buckle to eliminate twisting of the cable during the pull. Heat shrink tubing is used at: 1. Where the basket meets with the turnbuckle (pull eye hook) 2. Where the basket ends and connects with the cable jacket to prevent snags and promote a smooth pull.
