Product Overview

The Indoor/Outdoor 50/125 OM4 Multimode Preterminated Fiber Optic Assemblies provide high-performance, high-speed connectivity for demanding network environments. Engineered with Corning® ClearCurve® glass, these assemblies deliver exceptional bandwidth, supporting data transmission up to 100 Gbps over distances of up to 550 meters at 850nm. Designed for both indoor and outdoor use, they feature a UV-resistant jacket and water-blocking materials, ensuring durability even in harsh conditions. Fully pre-terminated and rigorously tested, these assemblies allow for quick, hassle-free installation, making them ideal for multi-floor deployments, underground conduits, and inter-building connectivity.

Our one-of-a-kind QuickTreX® Custom Pre-Terminated Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies are made in the USA and have a longstanding reputation of 25+ years for premium quality and reliability that cannot be beat. We have a strict quality control manufacturing process and are ISO 9001 certified.  We also offer the easiest ordering process, fastest production times and transit times.

We will keep you informed of your order status from start to finish so you can plan your installation accordingly.  You will receive an order confirmation immediately, a ship date within 24 hours, and tracking information once your custom assembly ships out.

When we receive your custom order, we build the assembly to your exact specifications using premium components including Corning® glass. Your assembly will be made in the USA by highly skilled technicians under strict quality control and comes to you fully tested and ready for immediate installation.  We can guarantee your fiber assembly will arrive quickly and exceed your expectations.  Our experts can also help you choose the right assembly for your application.

Typical Indoor/Outdoor Jacket Applications:

Our Indoor/Outdoor Pre-Terminated Fiber Optic Cable Assemblies are perfect for connecting the networks of two buildings through the use of an underground conduit, headend termination to a fiber backbone, termination of fiber rack systems, multi-floor deployment where select fibers are used at each floor, or intra-building backbones. This fiber is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, so there is no 50 foot fire code requirement traditionally found with outdoor (OSP) cable. This indoor/outdoor cable has a water blocking aramid yarn strength member surrounding the fiber optic strands and a UV resistant outer jacket making it a very versatile and perfect choice for a large variety of installations.  This cable can be installed and left exposed in outdoor locations where blunt force or rodent chew damage is not a concern.

We offer our indoor/outdoor assemblies in an optional plenum rated jacket which is perfect for installations that transition from an outdoor location such as an underground conduit, to an interior location that requires a plenum rated jacket such as ventilation shafts.  A cable rated for plenum installation will have low-smoke characteristics as defined by the NFPA (National Fire Protection Agency).

Standard QuickTreX® Manufacturing Features:

  • Fast Custom ISO 9001 Certified Manufacturing in the USA. 2-millimeter color coded or sequentially labeled furcation tubing is installed on each strand for easy identification and extra durability before, during, and after the pull. Heat shrink tubing and glue set is used at the transition from the jacket to the furcation tubing providing superior strength and strain relief while pulling the assembly.
  • Connectors inside the basket are staggered for less bulk and more flexibility.
  • Each connector is individually plastic wrapped to prevent contamination by pulling lubricants and/or other contaminants.
  • Each assembly includes a wrap around-label on both ends of the assembly which will include the QuickTreX® part number and individual serial number.
  • Each Assembly includes a full test report. During our testing process all fiber ends are visually inspected with a fiberscope of 400 power or better for surface defects including, cracking, pitting, and scratches, on the glass surface of the connector.  All connector ends are then tested utilizing a professional grade Loss Test Set.
  • The test report is saved in our database for 1 year and can be requested at any time.
  • Pulling Eyes (pulling baskets) if equipped are made from super strong polyethylene mesh and feature a free-spinning buckle to eliminate twisting of the cable during the pull. Heat shrink tubing is used at:
       1. Where the basket meets with the turnbuckle (pull eye hook)
       2. Where the basket ends and connects with the cable jacket to prevent snags and promote a smooth pull.
  • All assemblies 100ft and over will be placed on a spool for easy installation. Assemblies under 100ft will be neatly air spooled.

Strand Count Breakdown & Rationale

Selecting the appropriate strand count depends on your network’s complexity and scalability. 2-strand options are ideal for basic point-to-point links, while 4 to 12 strands offer moderate scalability for departmental or intra-office setups. 18 to 24 strands handle redundancy and segmentation for medium-sized facilities, such as schools or small campuses. For 36 and higher strand counts, subunitized designs cater to high-density environments, ensuring efficient deployment and superior scalability for data centers and metro networks.

Typical Applications by Industry

  • Data Centers: High-density, low-latency connections for server racks and switches.
  • Healthcare: Ensures secure, high-speed connections for medical imaging and telehealth systems.
  • Educational Institutions: Supports campus-wide connectivity for labs, classrooms, and administrative offices.
  • Telecommunications: Reliable backbone infrastructure for inter-building fiber networks.
  • Enterprises: Scalable solutions for redundancy and multi-department operations.
  • Retail: Handles centralized POS systems and smart inventory solutions.

Why 6-Strand is the Best Fit for These Applications

For multi-floor deployments or medium-sized operations, the 6-strand assembly delivers enhanced scalability for voice, data, and security systems. Applications like schools or single-building campuses benefit from more dedicated pathways between systems.

The assembly offers a compromise between scalability and cost, ensuring flexibility for gradual infrastructure growth.

I have used LanShack for custom pre-terminated fiber assemblies for a couple of years now. The quality of the product is top notch. Setting up a new building and ordered this 1200' to connect 2 buildings together. Great termination quality. Zero issues installing and connecting. Connection lit from the start. Thank you very much.
