The TNC connector is a medium sized form of RF connector and is great for applications where the connector needs to withstand vibrations, and provide a reliable performance at high frequencies. It is similar to the BNC connector, but has a screw fit instead of a bayonet connection. The interface specifications for the TNC and many other connectors are referenced in MIL-STD-348. The connector has a 50 Ω impedance and operates best in the 0–11 GHz frequency spectrum. It has better performance than the BNC connector at microwave frequencies.
